Collective Bargaining Update (August 11, 2023)

Over the past year, Teranet Manitoba and the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union (MGEU) Locals 397 and 399 Bargaining Committee have been working closely to reach a new agreement through the collective bargaining process.

The MGEU Bargaining Committee recently rejected Teranet Manitoba’s proposal to engage a third-party mediator to assist with the negotiations, which we believed could help the parties negotiate revised terms of settlement. Instead, the MGEU has been escalating strike action, and in total, 34 of 70 unionized employees are currently on strike.

Rest assured, Teranet Manitoba has deployed a comprehensive contingency plan to minimize the impact on you. However, we want to acknowledge that you may begin experiencing longer wait times for Land Titles Registry and Personal Property Registry services. While we’re temporarily unable to provide in-person support at our offices, you can contact us for assistance with land titles, personal property, surveys, or our online services.

We understand this situation may be concerning and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our primary goal is to successfully conclude negotiations through the collective bargaining process to minimize any impact on you.
